Lord Shiva

Conch shells are not used in the worship of Lord Shiva, Why?

It is said that the glory of Lord Shiva is unparalleled in Hinduism. Shiva is one of the major deities of Hinduism. Lord Shiva, known as Mahadev, God, etc., is often worshiped as a Shivalinga.

As it will be happy soon, Lord Shiva’s favorite month known as Bhole Baba is Saun and his favorite time is Monday. It is necessary to follow small rules to worship him.

It is mentioned in Shiva Purana that conch shells should not be used even by mistake while worshiping Lord Shiva. The reason why conch shells should not be used in Shivaji’s worship is very interesting.

After Daityaraja Dambha did hard penance for Lord Vishnu for a few years and asked for the gift of a brave son for the loks, Shivaji fulfilled the gift. Shankhchud was the son of Daityaraj Dambha. Everyone was horrified by his atrocities.

Even the gods were not happy with Shiva’s decision. Everyone reached the stage of Shiva to back away from this decision and seek justice.

But Lord Vishnu, disguised as a Brahmin, asked for the armor of Lord Krishna with a conch shell. They also took away the seal of Tulsi as a Shankhchud.

After this, Shivaji destroyed Shankhachud with his trident. It is mentioned in the Shiva Purana that the conch was born from the bone of Shankhachud.
