Sawan 2021: Do not make these mistakes while offering Belpatra to Lord Shiva, know the first rule

The month of Sawan is very dear to Lord Shiva. According to the Hindu calendar, the month of Shravan will start from July 25, 2021. It is believed that this month is considered very auspicious to get the blessings of Lord Shiva.

If Lord Shiva is anointed with Ganges water and worshiped with rituals in this month, then all the wishes of the person are fulfilled by this. During the worship of Lord Shiva in the month of Sawan, people offer many things. One of those things includes Bel leaves.

According to religious beliefs, Belpatra is very dear to Lord Shiva. Regarding the origin of Belpatra, there is a story in Skanda Purana that once Goddess Parvati wiped the sweat from her forehead and threw some drops of which fell on the Madar mountain, from which the Bel tree originated.

Girija in the roots of this tree, Maheshwari in the stem, Dakshayani in the branches, Parvati in the husbands, Gauri in the flowers. It is said that because of this reason, Belpatra is very dear to Lord Shiva. If you are offering Bel leaves during the worship of Lord Shiva, then it is important to take care of some special things.

Know the rules before offering Bel leaves to Lord Shiva

1. If you are offering Belpatra in the worship of Lord Shiva, then during that time first of all you need to take care of the direction of Belpatra. You should always offer Belpatra to Lord Shiva only by touching the opposite side of the Belpatra ie the smooth surface.

2. When you are offering Bel leaves to Lord Shiva, then during that time you should keep in mind that you should always offer Bel leaves only with the help of ring finger, thumb, and middle finger. Along with offering Bel leaves to Lord Shiva, one must also offer a stream of water.

3. If you are offering Belpatra in the worship of Lord Shiva, then Belpatra with three leaves is considered very auspicious. If you offer a bunch of three leaves of Belpatra, then Lord Shiva is pleased with it. It is believed that all the pilgrimages reside in their original department. Only three leaves of Belpatra are offered to Lord Shiva. Apart from this, you have to keep in mind that the leaves of Belpatra should not be cut or torn.

4. Breaking Belpatra on certain dates is considered taboo in the scriptures. For example, on Chaturthi, Ashtami, Navami, Chaturdashi, and Amavasya, at the time of Sankranti and on Mondays, don’t forget to break Bel leaves. In such a situation, break the Bel leaves a day before the worship and keep it.

5. Let us tell you that Belpatra is never impure. You can also wash and offer Belpatra already offered.
