Why is there a tradition of getting up in Brahmamuhurta in Sanatan Dharma ?
Our Siddha Yogi sages have said that it is best to wake up in Brahma Muhurta. Waking up in Brahma Muhurta brings benefits of beauty, strength, knowledge, intelligence and good health. One should wake up only in Brahma Muhurta four hours (about one and a half hours) before sunrise. At this time gold is injurious and scripture is prohibited. Brahmamuhurta i.e. favorable time, The last prahar of the night i.e. from 4 to 5.30 in the morning is called Brahma Muhurta.
ब्रह्ममुहुर्ते या निंद्रा सा पुण्यक्षयकारिणी : Sleeping in Brahmamuhurta destroys virtue. This is the best time for devotion to God. By getting up at this time, a person gets beauty, Lakshmi, intelligence, health, his mind is calm and body is pure… Waking up in Brahma Muhurta is very beneficial for our life. This is such a great and holy formula to be healthy and successful in which there is no cost. One needs to give up laziness.
It is also mentioned in the scriptures: वर्णं कीर्तिं मतिं लक्ष्मीं स्वास्थ्यमायुश्च विदन्ति ब्राह्मे मुहूर्ते संजाग्रच्छि वा पंकज यथा i.e by getting up in Brahma Muhurta, one gets beauty, Lakshmi, intelligence, health, age etc.
The importance of getting up in Brahma Muhurta and its benefits have been mentioned in the Vedas too. प्रातारत्नं प्रातरिष्वा दधाति तं चिकित्वा प्रतिगृह्यनिधत्तो तेन प्रजां वर्धयमान आयू रायस्पोषेण सचेत सुवीर:The person who wakes up before sunrise in the morning has good health. That’s why wise people don’t waste this time. A person who gets up early in the morning is healthy, happy, strong and has a long life.
यद्य सूर उदितोऽनागा मित्रोऽर्यमा सुवाति सविता भग:One should defecate and take bath in the morning before sunrise, after that one should worship God. The pure and pure air of this time increases health and wealth.
उद्यन्त्सूर्यं इव सुप्तानां द्विषतां वर्च आददे,If those who do not wake up or wake up even after the sun rises, their brightness ends. Therefore, according to the rules of Sanatan Dharma, we should adopt our lifestyle according to the deeds told by our ancestors, this is the peace of our life and the real joy of life.
