When Karna asked Shri Krishna on one of his questions, what was my fault, then what was the answer of Shri Krishna on that?
Karna asked Krishna – My mother abandoned me as soon as I was born. Was it my fault for having illegitimate children? Dronacharya did not teach me because I was not a Kshatriya son? Parshuram ji taught me right but cursed that when I need that knowledge the most, I will forget it, because he came to know that I am a Kshatriya. Just by chance a cow hit my arrow and its owner cursed me even though I was not at fault. I was insulted in Draupadi Swayamvar. Mother Kunti finally told me my birth secret, even to save her other sons. Whatever I have got, it is from Duryodhana. So, where am I wrong if I fight on his side?
*Lord Krishna replied: * Karna, I was born in prison. * Death was waiting for me even before birth. * The night I was born, I was taken away from my parents on the same night. * Your childhood was spent listening to their sound in the midst of Khadga, Chariot, Horse, Dhanushya and Arrow. I found the cowshed of the cowherd, got the dung and had to face many fatal attacks before I could even stand and walk. *No army, no education. I got taunts from people that I am the cause of their problems. When your guru was praising your bravery, I didn’t even get any education at that age. When I was sixteen years old, I went somewhere and reached the Gurukul of Sage Sandipan. You can marry a girl of your choice. I did not get the girl I loved and had to marry those whom I wanted or whom I had saved from demons. My entire society had to be shifted from the banks of Yamuna to a distant sea to save them from Jarasandha. I was also called Bhiru because of my escape from the battle. If Duryodhana wins the war, you will get a lot of credit. What will I get if Dharmaraja wins? *I will be blamed only for war and the problems created by war. * Remember one thing, Karna – Life gives challenges to everyone, life does not do justice to anyone. Duryodhana has faced injustice and Yudhishthira has also suffered injustice. But you know what is true religion. * * no matter how much humiliation it is, we may not get what we have right… what matters is how you face that crisis at that time. Stop crying, Karna, life does not do justice, it does not mean that you are allowed to walk the path of unrighteousness.
