Damru to balance the universe
The way Lord Shiva wore Sat, Raja and Tama guna in the form of trident to maintain harmony in the universe.
In the same way, he wore a damru to balance the universe.
According to a legend, when Goddess Saraswati appeared, she communicated the sound of the Veena to the universe.
But she is said to have sound and music. Then Bholenath performed the dance and played Damru 14 times.
It is believed that the sound and melody of music was born from that sound of Damru. Damru is also considered as a form of Brahmadev.
