Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath has said that he wants to see Nepal become a Hindu country again. He said that the majority of the Indian people would stand by Nepal if it moves towards becoming a Hindu country. “Nepal has a great advantage when it comes to being a Hindu country,” he told Nepali journalists.
He said that Nepal could make its existence separate in the world if a Hindu country could be formed. “Making Nepal a Hindu country can have its own separate identity,” he said. “Britain has made us secular.” The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom or any other official swears by the Bible. But in the same secularism, we are not allowed to swear by touching the Gita. ‘Adityanath, the Chief Minister of the state bordering Nepal, has been advocating for a Hindu country.
Stating that the majority Hindus of India have great faith in Pashupatinath Temple and Muktinath, he said that Nepal could reap huge benefits from religious tourism. “Hindus in South India go to the Muktinath temple in the belief that they will be liberated,” he said. “We also have a religious belief that one must go to the Pashupatinath temple.” Yogi Adityanath’s real name is Ajay Singh Bista. Yogi completed his studies from Garhwal University tin B.Sc. Mahant Avidyanath of Gorakhnath temple initiated him and made him a yogi.
After retiring from politics in 1998, Avidyanath announced Adityanath as his successor. He became a Member of Parliament in the 1998 Lok Sabha elections at the age of 26. He became the Chief Minister after becoming an MP for the fifth time from Gorakhpur. He had started a campaign against conversion by forming a Hindu youth wing.
He is also in the news because of his controversial statements. After he became the Chief Minister, he changed the names of many historical places of Uttar Pradesh including Gorakhpur. Gorakhpur’s Urdu Bazaar was renamed Hindi Bazaar and Alinagar was renamed Aryanagar.
